Sergio's Art Gallery is the original work of the artist Sergio Martinez from Chicago. Sergio pulls from his Mexican culture and the outer tangible world to create his stories through art. His method of developing art take birth from his experiences as an a Mexican Artist, by emerging his past with the present scenarios. A culinary chef since 1992, he finds that the creativity demanded in the kitchen mirrors his artistic endeavors. Inspired by nature and fueled by a love for all types of music, Sergio’s art is a testament to a lifetime of creativity and dedication. Beholden to Art
I was born in a small village in Michoacan, Mexico in 1967. Art caught my attention at an early age. When I was about 6 years old, I found a sketchbook in the storage room and my mom told me that it was my grandfather's old sketchbook, that was the moment that sparked my love for art. From that day on, I began sketching and reading books about art, art was always on my mind. In school, classmates asked me to do sketches for them. I began to notice how art felt so natural to me.

Sergio's paintings are a reflection of his creativity and distinctive skill. His ability to take an idea or inspiration and form it into a premium quality painting is something that you won't easily find around the Chicago metropolitan area, let alone the nation. Sergio painted an absolutely gorgeous rendition of our four legged family member who’d recently passed on and it couldn’t have captured our beloved dog’s personality any better. He took such great care to give the drawing personality as if he knew her himself. We cannot say enough about Sergio’s talent, thoughtfulness, and ability to bring a sentimental picture to life. We rarely hang pictures (were fairly minimalist in our decor) but this one is featured in our main room! He really has a talent!
